Jim is a software test engineer, currently contracting with Direct Radiography in Newark. He runs automated test equipment called Test
Quest which runs tests via computer on newly developed operating system software that controls digital x-ray products. The really great part
about it is that it can be run remotely via phone, modem and software on the laptop - even on board the Boss Lady. Jim is also the mechanic,
electrician, carpenter, plumber and all around repairman.

Sue is a gardener who collects and grows Hostas, yard girl who mows the lawn and deals with leaves, secretary, housekeeper, maid, shopper, car
washer, bookkeeper and gourmet cook (so they say). I should mention that Sue is
a California Girl.
She also plans all the boating trips and cooks all the meals on board when anchored out.
Last year, Jim and Sue missed only 3 weekends on board during the summer from April until November. They are serious boaters, and the
folks at the marina rarely see them. Sue has been keeping a journal of all time spent on the water since 1990.

Boss Lady is their first Carver and was purchased in March of 1999. They are the 3rd owners of the boat and were very interested to learn
that the first owner kept her at the same marina where they keep her now. The name came with her, and being slightly superstitious, it was
decided to keep it (though at first it was a little hard to get used to). However, it's turned out to be a great way to start a conversation
with other boaters. The women find it extremely attractive. |
| Jim's biggest boat repair job so far was completely redoing the bottom to repair
blisters. This included removing all paint, grinding out the 120 blisters, then letting the hull dry out for 2 months. He then filled
them, applied 6 coats of Interprotect 2000, then applying 2 coats of bottom paint. |

Jim and Sue have also added a high capacity inverter/charger,
new easy to use faucets, updated CD stereo system, space saver toaster oven and spice rack, new reading lights in the forward cabin, an
improved trash system in the galley and urethane coating the teak parquet floor with polyurethane.
